Εsperino Gymnasium-L.T. Karditsa participates as a sending partner in the Erasmus+ KA101 staff learning mobility project entitled “Emotional intelligence and soft skills for the integration of minorities, migrants and refugees in European schools” and project code 2020-1-EL01-KA101-077919.

As part of the project, four (4) teachers of the school (Ilias Loukas, Aikaterini Alexiou, Georgios Tsiardakas and Ilias Sveronis) participated in a training seminar in Tenerife, Spain, from 03 to 10 July 2021.
This seminar was entitled “Soft Skills and Emotional Intelligence for teachers and education staff” and was organized by the educational organization Erasmus Learning Academy.

The main objective of the project is to strengthen the skills of teachers to respond more competently to the challenges emerging in the field of education of refugee children and to handle educational practices that promote inclusion, empower and lead to school success.

By participating in this seminar the beneficiaries were able to improve their soft skills such as: working in a multicultural environment, team management, leadership, conflict management, public speaking, meeting management, etc. Particularly multicultural classroom management will be very useful when teaching refugee students in school.
The contact with teachers from other EU countries gave our teachers the opportunity for on-site comparison of educational systems, methods and techniques of education and adoption of positive practices in teaching our students.

In addition to the educational process, the teachers were informed about the cultural and heritage of Spain, and visited important cultural sites and monuments of Tenerife during their free time.
